Flooring not completed, yet money was given.
We work hard for our money, therefore looking for deals to save money and stretch our paycheck has become an art form. The most common way is cutting coupons, but how about searching Craig's list where we find anything from clothing to cars? We all want a deal! and searching for special pricing for our home improvements projects is no exception.
Often we are asked about money saving ideas for new cabinets, counter tops and flooring. Counter tops, cabinets and flooring come in several price ranges to choose from. The cost for labor is usually standard, unless you look on sites such as Craig's list for a deal. I understand why looking for a person who can put in flooring or painting the home for less money is appealing. More often than not in the end, the deal we received could cost more money for the homeowner.
In an article written by LiAna Gonzales with 3TV An Arizona resident wanted new flooring in her condo, she looked on Craig's list, as we do when looking for a deal, only to end up with an unfinished floor. .http://www.azfamily.com/news/consumer/3OYS-Confronts-Craigslist-Contractor-185603631.html
When it comes to labor intensified items such as a new roof, adding/removing a wall, painting or new flooring it's best kept for the licensed Contractors. License Contractors are required to provide insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. In the case of the Arizona resident a deposit was given, some work was completed however the homeowner felt she exhausted all her options to get the job completed and looked to 3TV for assistance. There are actions you can take to ensure this does not happen with your project.
Please do some research on the person and or company. They must be licensed to perform work in your home. Why? you ask. Here is a list of items I have heard about this past year.
1. The person I hired to replace my baseboards took my deposit and I have not heard from him in 3 months.
2. Once the painter was gone we noticed all the windows have over spray. They need to be replaced however the person I hired will not replace them.
3. The flooring that was installed is not what I wanted, the installer will not fix the error.
4. When the installer we hired to replace the flooring in our bathroom broke the toilet they would not replace it.
Research any company you are looking at hiring. They are in your home, be sure they do not have disciplines. Looking to the Registrar of Contractors for any complaints or disciplines. Type in the name of the company as well as the owners name.
The Better Business Bureau will offer the rating and any disciplines the company would have.
And of course, Google the company name and the owner.
A licensed handy man will be great for some projects and can even save money. When it comes to larger projects especially ones that could require permits I recommend hiring a licensed general contractor. Remember if you are having someone in your home research them to ensure your home is kept safe.

How to grow my real estate business?
Why would a contractor join an Asian Real Estate group? Because I am Asian? No! I am not! The truth is Knipp Contracting belongs to the Asian Real Estate Association of America (www.AREAA.org) because of their dedication to sustainable homeownership and community stabilization. This group is dedicated to the education of the real estate community so more people can be helped. AREAA has worked hard to ensure homes are saved and lives are not disrupted because of the economy.
From a business stand point, the connections I have made through this organization has helped our business grow well beyond our expectations. The main banks support AREAA and friendships are formed, making it a perfect opportunity to get cutting edge information.
Staying ahead of the competition is what we all want and AREAA has helped me with do just that. With the connections and education I have received we are forging forward beyond the competition.
Don't just take my word for it. The 2012 AREAA National Convention will be in Las Vegas September 23-25th at the world-famous Bellagio resort. Come see for yourself!

Celebrating Home Improvement month comes at a
perfect time. While home prices rise, it’s the perfect opportunity to
have your local general contractor offer pricing. Why is it a good time? The building industry is not as busy has
it has been in the past, this benefits YOU the homeowner. Lower pricing allows the buyer to receive more for your money!
Go ahead! Remodel the kitchen, put a new tub in the master bathroom or perhaps paint your home. It's Home Improvement Month!

How can you finance a remodel? One option would be using the FHA 203k loan.
This will allow you to refinance your current home and renovate in one loan
amount. Looking for a different neighborhood? No problem! The FHA 203k loan is
for you too. With the 203k loan buyers are able to find the perfect location
that fits the family. Home buyers can upgrade the home by choosing carpet, countertops or cabinets that fits your style.
HUD Properties are a perfect fit for the 203k loan, they are usually lower in price which allows financing for renovations. Loan cannot exceed 110% of the appraised value. For more information you can contact one of these links below or contact us! 623-561-0803

Inexpensive ideas to spruce up a kitchen or bath.
Springtime
is here! Looking for
inexpensive ideas to spruce up the kitchen or bath?
Here
are some ideas that are inexpensive and sure to inspire!
Cabinets can be expensive. Changing
out the handles or door knobs can be fun, easy and will change the look of the room.
Look around for clearance items, a good place to start is at your local home improvements store in the clearance section. Bed linen stores
have clearance items as well. Is your decor eclectic? mix and match your knobs or handles, you an always change them back! Go ahead be spontenaious!
Be sure you count the number of knobs or handles needed. When the deal comes along all the information you need will be at your fingertips.
Purchase a new area rug to bring warmth and color into a drab space. Wanting to add color without painting? Try adding decorative pots full of flowers or plants.
Painting
an accent wall or the entire room is another excellent choice for creating a new
revived space. Check with your
local home improvement store or your contractor for paint that was purchased
and returned for the color. These paints are discounted and can be the color you have always wanted.
Below
is the before and after of a bath that was painted. This new neutral color
changed the mood of the room giving it a fresh new sophisticated look. Adding a mirror finished this look for a whole new bathroom.
